AJ Literary represents a selective range of Bangla fiction intended for English-language publication. Our focus is on works that demonstrate narrative distinction, established readership, and clear potential for international markets.
Categories of Representation
Literary Fiction
Narrative-driven novels with strong authorial voice, thematic depth, and stylistic confidence. We are particularly interested in works that engage with contemporary concerns through grounded, character-focused storytelling.
Speculative & Fantasy Fiction
Speculative, fantasy, and myth-influenced narratives that combine imaginative world-building with disciplined structure and emotional coherence. We prioritize works that balance genre familiarity with cultural specificity.
High-Concept Genre Fiction
Select genre fiction — such as thriller, historical, or cross-genre work — where the central concept is clear, compelling, and supported by strong execution. Narrative momentum and international readability are key considerations.
What We Handle
AJ Literary represents English-language rights, including:
- World English rights
- UK and North American English rights
- Translation-led international editions (where applicable)
Rights representation is discussed on a title-by-title basis.
What We Do Not Represent
To maintain focus and editorial clarity, AJ Literary does not represent:
- Non-fiction
- Children's or middle-grade titles
- Poetry
- Short-story collections
- Vanity or self-published projects
- Unedited or unpublished manuscripts
- Open or unsolicited submissions
AJ Literary works with a small, highly curated list of titles and represents a limited number of projects at a time to ensure focused representation and long-term publishing alignment.
AJ Literary evaluates potential projects internally and approaches international publishers directly when editorial and market alignment is clear.
